About Us
Jobe Tone Pickups are electric instrument pickups which are hand made by Byron Jobe, of Fernley, Nevada. Byron has 35 years experience as a luthier, making and repairing stringed instruments by hand. The pickups he makes are being used by practicing and experienced music artists in the United States, Canada and Europe. The pickups are constructed using the best quality components, and are all hand wound and assembled. There are several options available with many of our pickups such as color of bobbins, pole pieces, 2 or 4 wire leads and pole spacing. Specific requests can also be made if you wanted something special for that "one-off" guitar you might be making. Just contact Byron using the "CONTACT US" link, to discuss what you're looking for.
Yellow Jacket
The Yellowjacket is a high output humbucker with a full range of tone. The combination of the number of winds, type of wire, and type of ceramic magnet used gives it sparkling highs and great tone on the low end as well. This pickup delivers loads of tone whether you're playing clean or with a bunch of distortion.
Introductory price each of: $73.99
Limited time only.
HORNET
Though not quite as hot as the Yellowjacket, the pickup delivers big time. At about 10K for the neck, and 12K for the bridge, it has great highs and delivers great harmonic sounds. Sounds great when played clean or loaded up with distortion, and gives your instrument plenty of sustain. As with all our dual coil pickups, they are available with 2 wire or 4 wire leads for advanced wiring.
Introductory price each of: $69.99
Limited time only.
VINTAGE SPEC HUMBUCKERS
These pickups are wound to vintage specs with many options available, such as vintage correct type wire, choice of Alnico magnets, and 2 or 4 wire leads. The output on this model is about 7.5K on the neck, and 8.5K on the bridge. This is one of my most popular models of pickup.
Introductory price each of: $65.99 for "Vintage-Modern"
Introductory price each of: $98.99 for "True-Vintage"
